Have you ever felt like an imposter, living someone else’s life? Have you felt lost and wondered who you truly are? My name is Q and I am a musician, songwriter and therapist. First and foremost I am a music fan.
As a musician I play and write music that has a pop heart and an alternative skin. My early years were spent absorbing the Merseybeat and Soul influence of my parents and putting 7” records back into sleeves after parties. During the 70’s I discovered glam, art and alt rock, particularly David Bowie.
Why does this matter? Well music and David Bowie saved my life. Sadly, I never met him and he doesn’t know it but he did. Music led me into a world where I wasn’t bullied and where I felt confident and safe. It also led me to my own creativity and finally to a place of understanding and some peace.
I want to leave behind my own small footprint on the vast beach of human endeavour. So I have set myself a five year project to document the process of change I have experienced both in music and in prose as a process.
If any of that connects with you then you’re invited to come on an adventure as I curate a musical project that grabs bits from all my influences to create songs of hope and possibilities, anger and despair, but also of humour and love.
This project is to produce meaningful music that answers the deeper questions of life and documents my personal journey pf change. On a wider level I want to produce maps and processes that can help anyone to create their own process of change using practical solutions and experiences that have worked for myself and my therapy clients.

As a therapist, l create spaces and resources that help with everyday issues as well as the deeper questions of life. “What are the things I want in my life? What are my core beliefs? What are my life goals? How do I navigate to them?” If you relate with any of these questions, I want to share this process and music with you so that it might help your inner child find a path to an aligned life.
I am on a five-year mission to seek out new music, new solutions and new ways of living. The dream then change process I will share for free. The music I hope to be paid for. After all, I can’t give everything away.
Five Years. That’s all I’ve got.
I believe music saves lives. It saved mine more than once. It’s never too late to start the process of change and growth.
As an independent artist, I don’t have a label backing me. This gives me the freedom to create what I want and from the heart however it also comes with the challenge of funding each aspect of every project! Although a lot of the songs are written and have demos, the production, the graphics and the filming are needed to bring it to life! (rewrite) If you have connected with my music, my mission or my story, you are invited on this journey. I have taken that process as far as I can with my own project studio using professional production and mastering plus session musicians where I have felt it necessary and funding this myself.
I feel I have taken my music as far as I can within my existing constraints. I have reached a happy place in my songwriting and feel ready to produce further quality songs. For reasons I will go into further later it is important for me to use a small group of quality professional session players and they will need playing. The studio environment and higher quality equipment will make a difference to the quality of the recording and end product and having an on site engineer and producer will make a difference to the consistency of the music. I already use a top quality mastering house and again maybe I can upgrade to an attended human session rather than a software mastering.

I have two musical writing projects in mind, one is about the creativity that David Bowie has inspired in me called Searching For Archers, The second is about the process of change that I have experienced since starting my own therapeutic journey and the tools and process I have co-created with my clients in my therapeutic work.
This is provisionally called Mariposa and features the song ‘Dream Then Change’ that I have written about an important aspect of that process. These will run alongside live shows with my Bowie project ‘The Genius of David Bowie’ which is important to me to acknowledge a huge influence on my creativity and also it currently provides the best outlet for my wish to play live.

Changing the world one life at a time and creating music to give meaningful experience is a mission I believe in passionately. Your support, in whatever way you are able or are moved to means a lot to me. A journey is always more fun with company, and I aim to have fun with this. Thank you!
